Caffe Vero

It has been a while since I reviewed a restaurant! Caffe Vero is a little place in Subiaco along Rokeby Rd. From the front, it looks cramp. Little did I know there is a bigger alfresco place behind the cafe which is where we chose to sit. It was a lovely day and the place was FILLED with footy supporters (being a Saturday). However, they soon left (to attend the game I presume!), and suddenly the cafe became really quiet!

These pictures were taken before I really got into the feel of being a foodie-hence alot of details, such as the interior and how the alfresco area looked like was missed *blush*.

Instinct took over when I saw this mug of mocha! Have to take a picture of that! The presentation is lovely!

The only complain we have is that following our orders, we were informed that they ran out of calamari. Then, we ordered a seafood basket-and they came back to say "sorry, we ran out of ALL seafood" DOH DOH DOH.

So we ordered a lasagna. Good portion with a generous serving of salad. I felt really full that day so only took a few bites out from there. Filled with cheese and generous with the beef-I don't think I have tasted such a lasagna for ages!

That was my order. Old-timer favourite. I think a good cafe should make a decent pumpkin soup...and they did! It was thick and flavorsome. I couldn't finish that!

This is a classic restaurant that we shouldn't be fooled by how it looks on the exterior! A huge variety of sandwiches, pitas and other classic dishes... I don't think it will stay a secret for too long. There were LCD monitors on the wall at the alfresco area as well.

If I remember correctly, we spent just under $25 (with a 25% discount voucher from Entertainment book) which is quite a feat for an Australian eatery.
